APPOINTMENTS

Requests for appointments are submitted by completing the online  for Personal Counseling.

Upon review of your form, a Professional Staff member will contact you to schedule the specific appointment.

  • The email for personalcounselingwc@udmercy.edu is monitored daily by Dorothy Stewart, Student Affairs Coordinator for students that have specific questions.
  • The email and/or form submissions are reviewed during business hours which are listed above. 
  • There is no monitoring during Holiday Seasons or when the University is designated closed.

If you need immediate psychological assistance or are experiencing a life-threatening emergency during evenings and weekends, please call 911 or visit your nearest hospital emergency department

For additional support, please contact the at 1-800-273-8255 or text the at 741741 (24 hours a day/7 days per week).

TELADOC OPTION

A Doctor or Therapist is available by phone or video through our relationship with Teladoc.

ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ have access to which provides access to doctors and mental healthcare from anywhere you are, even while traveling internationally.

  • All services are free to students covered under the UHCSR insurance plan.  Services are also available to students that are not covered under UHCSR for a fee. 
  • Please do not forget to review the website as a virtual option.

Psychological and Counseling Services Offered

Services are provided by a clinical psychologist, clinical social workers and mental health counselors who are licensed in the state of Michigan at the highest level of practice. ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ seek counseling for many different reasons including:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Mood swings
  • Adjustment and developmental concerns
  • Self-esteem concerns
  • Relationship Concerns
  • Stress: academic and social pressures
  • Troublesome feelings including loneliness, shyness, fear and anger
  • Grief and loss
  • Academic performance and motivation
  • Drug and alcohol use issues

    Confidentiality

    All Services in the Wellness Center are Confidential

    Our staff recognizes the importance of privacy and safety as the basis of effective therapy. We do not share information about students seeking help in the Wellness Center with anyone without written permission. Safeguarding information shared by students in the context of the counselor-client relationship is an ethical and legal responsibility of all ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ clinicians. Counseling records are kept separate from the medical records and are not made accessible to medical practitioners without written consent.
